Plan International Belgium, çavaria and ARGO-CCGD invite you to participate in a series of seminars addressing the critical theme of gender equality and LGBTQI+ rights in international cooperation. These events aim to provide practical knowledge, foster dialogue, and promote structural changes to promote gender equality and LGBTQI+ Inclusion in policies and programmes.

This three-part seminar series in English will bring together experts, practitioners, and stakeholders from the fields of international cooperation, civil society, and policymaking to engage with the following topics:

✔️ Seminar 1: The basics of sexual and gender diversity – Gain a foundational understanding of SOGIESC diversity, its links to gender equality, and key challenges to inclusion. This session will unpack terminology, address misconceptions, and explore practical ways to integrate LGBTQI+ rights into international cooperation.

✔️ Seminar 2: Understanding the hostile environment for LGBTQI+ rights and gender equality: a deep dive into anti-rights and anti-gender movements – Explore the rise of anti-rights and anti-gender movements, their strategies, and their impact on gender equality and LGBTQI+ rights. This seminar will equip participants with tools to understand these movement, counter misinformation and promote inclusive narratives.

✔️ Seminar 3: The digital space, youth, and Advocacy for LGBTQI+ rights and gender equality – Discuss the evolving role of digital advocacy in youth-led movements for gender equality and LGBTQI+ rights. Participants will explore opportunities, risks, and strategies for safe and effective activism, with content shaped by insights from previous seminars.
